I'm looking for a 50cc saw to replace a Husqvarna 450e (Rancer-ish) saw. The Home Depots around here still have some CS-4910s leftover founder $400. I want a pro saw and am very tempted to just order a CS-501P, but that's going to cost more than $100 more. How much different are the two saws? Many say the two are close to identical. All input is greatly appreciated, thank you!

The 4910 is the exact same saw as the 501p except a few minor parts ( captive bar nuts , different color clutch cover, and different handle) I have the 4910. Excellent saw.

I went with the more expensive version (not a fan of plastic hoops). No regrets. There's no wrong choice here AFAIC. I did get a 15% discount on the 501 which brought selling price down to just under 500.

When you get one, address the muffler outlet.

I like the color of the 4910 better, too.
For about $55, he can get the aluminum handle and rubber rear handle to make it like the 501P.

Grab that 4910 while you can, the 4920 is a different design.
Send it to huskihl for XS treatment...it will outcut bigger saws...

Thank you, all! HD near me has a few with 20" bars. It's prefer a shorter bar, but can't find any w/ a 16" or 18". They have reduced the price to $360 & it's payday! Hopefully this acquisition will ward off C.A.D. for a short time. Is anyone interested in a Husqvarna 450e?
Meanwhile, #1 son sells OPE & some of his dealers carry Echo. I'm thinking a CS-7310P w/a 32" bar will round out the fleet.

I'm quite curious about the 7310. Nearly bought one last year but chickened out.

Good deal! The 4910 is an excellent saw and when ported, they really work well. I got to run T.Jeff Veal 's ported 4910 and I was impressed. I plan on getting one of them while I can still get a new one and then get it ordered. The light weight and ported power is a great combo.

I'm guessing that when I get one, it will be my go to saw for most chainsaw work.

Also regarding plastic handles, I hand never had any issues no breaks cracks etc on either the 029 super or the ms170 that I use a lot. The 029 super was put though a ton of abuse in the first 15 or so years of owning it.

Do some checking, you may be able to use the bar & chain from your husky on the echo? 4910 is a fantastic value. Sounds and acts like a 346 when ported. That is saying something…

Took me a little bit of effort to find the correct Tsumura. I run 18 on mine. Tsumura # is 005SR2 (.325x72)

C.A.D. is under control, it was on clearance at HD & there are a few more in various stores. It's really not a problem, the only dilemma is getting rid of the box w/o the roommate noticing. Monday is recycling day.

A box cutter can turn a box into little pieces that fit easily into a trashbag....

Glad you liked it, you should run it now with a Stihl chain on it...
