I haven't had an update here in a while due to the very cold weather we had thus winter. I will be getting back on the echos before long. I have additional saws now as well.

This saw really isn't a project beyond me having put new lines, carb kit, tank grommet and purge bulb in it. I also muffler modded it and removed the carb limiters.

This is a CS400. Its just filthy but has excellent compression, no piston scoring and fires up. Anywhere I've wiped the gunk off its not even faded. This is going to be hanging on my Kubota after I make a saw mount for it.

Then there is still the 501P that I started on before the deep freeze.

I'll put my latest acquisition right here. More on this eventually.

A couple years ago I purchased this New Old Stock Partner roller tip bar from ebay for $10. Turns out it futs this vintage echo with zero modifications.

I have a CS 500 VL and love that old saw. They built them heavy back then, but they also built them to last:thumbs:

I was very surprised. So much so that I started looking for signs that it had been apart and replaced. I see no signs of if having been apart.

The rain has given me time to get back on some saw projects. The 501P is ready for black dye. The 400 is just getting a deep clean up plus carb kit and new air filter. The vintage echo is getting a deep cleaning, carb kit and some other parts.

The vintage 452VL saw appears to have been damaged in a tree accident or the like. the upper handlebar mount has two rubber isolators volcanized to the mounting plates. One was tore completely through. I originally assumed someone had pinched the bar and pulled on it. Then, after further disassembly I found this. Pull starting wouldn't cause this because the cracks are on top. Luckily, echo saws aren't as popular for collecting, it appears, because I was able to get some really nice used pieces to fix it. The entire bottom plate and it's 3 isolators, complete upper handlebar mount and a complete side cover with pull start mechanism. $80 and change

New bling for my 2511P. I couldn't resist with the 15% off they gave me.
