Can't like this! Sorry to hear it. Always hard to have a cherished pet pass. Anyone who has had this happen hurts when they hear about it. Please pass this on to your Wife.
31/72. 60/40 mix of CO & BL. Had to bring in more oak today so I don’t burn through all the good stuff. The ground was still frozen so no problems doing so.
Warmer today than it's been in a while. Reached mid 40's today. Changed the oil in my wife's car, only notable because I had nearly the cleanest oil change to date. I'll take the win. Cleaned the flue today for the first time this burn season; came away with maybe a 1/3 cup for soot all when I opened the clean out and perhaps a similar amount of flakey shiny stuff when the brush got to the last 3 foot section. Planning on getting the fire going sometime around 5pm tonight and letting it coast through the night. If the weather predictions are correct I'm unlikely to get another fire going for the rest of the week- temps look more than mild. Hope everyone is doing well!
38/72 took a half bucket of ash out and loaded some ash splits for evening. Saw 45 when we got home from church.
Have burnt most of the sycamore I cut in 2020 this winter. I wouldn't shy away from it if it were to come along again.
Thank You I will. She is devastated by the loss. This is the 3rd since we’ve been together and this one has been the worst. There’s been a German Shepherd visiting the yard regularly and I’m trying to get it stay, but it’s pretty skittish. She says no more dogs, but I think she will come around. I put a bowl of food out for the Shepherd.
35/74 CO Let mud season commence. I do think oak is good. Maybe I should have said great stuff. The black locust splits I have in the basement are quite a bit heavier in weight compared to the chestnut oak of the same size. When I load the box w/ all BL, I get significantly longer burn times as well. I can reload for the night at 10p and have a large amount of coals at 7a, CO would be down to just enough to relight. Also.. the other woods in my hoard, mulberry, honey locust, cherry and more black locust. I’m very spoiled there.
Sorry she is hurting so bad. When we lost our Gordon Setter My Wif was shattered so I can understand what she is going through. Whether we lose a dog or a person, It is still pain that we feel. Sometimes only time helps. In the meanwhile I'm rooting for the Shepherd!
