Getting ready to clean up the piles of Black Locust logs hanging around the property. This should be fun. Where’s the wood? Figured the pile and twisted logs were sloppy enough to pop loose. Nope, needed a sledge hammer to break the ice. Looking at this last pic I remembered I need a pole for mommas washline. The last one I dropped just may work. This stuff came from a twisty tree grove, might be the straightest in the bunch. I’ll set it aside. Good thing my 550 didn’t start or I would have cut it up. Have one 550 that’s going to the shop tomorrow. Not getting fuel to the primer bulb. Yes I know I could fix it myself if I wanted just not in the mood. Besides I want to try a new to me dealer in the area, see if they’re any good. Very hard to find good service in my area. The 550 I’ve been using starts cold but is a pain to start after sitting a bit but still warm. This started when I put a new plug in it from China. I’ll grab a new NGK from the dealer and if that doesn’t fix it they can have that saw when I pick up the first. it’s tough on the saws running short stints and then waiting to bring another log in. Easier on me tho. May have to put he 20” bar on the 462 and cut poles with that for awhile.

No fear and no brains is a bad combo Hopefully with time she will develop the brains. I think Brad has his own playpen to drool over now. He may need to up his game to keep up LOL. That’s a good thing.

Took another shot at it today. Cold, icy but a nice day in the sun. update on the 550’s. The one I took to the shop they told me the clutch side bearing is blown,,,,,,,odd, have t picked it up yet. The other one that was running like crap smartened back up when I replaced the Chinese plug with a NGK.
Did you use the 462 to cut? I see your area looks just like mine. I actually got stuck in the backyard at storage from the ice. Loaded a full half cord and still couldn't get out. Tree guy's F350 rescued me. I went to back in this afternoon with a heaping load to split and opted not too. Had to carry the chunks a bit to the splitter from the driveway and had to watch my step in the process. Be safe out there my friend.
I like your dog. I have a basset-beagle, he is one happy dog. Old man now, still happy. But limps sometimes, don't know why. Been doing it for years off and on. Doesn't seem to bother him a bit lol.
No on the 462. Swapped the no name Chinese plug for a jap plug and all seemed better. I reset the computer while I was at it by ripping a log,,,,if that works,,, so my newer 550 is running good now. I learned this lesson many years ago. Did a tune up for a girlfriend on her Ford Escort, not a Lamborghini a stinking Escort. Basically just plugs, wires and an oil change. Car was running fine when I started, when I ended it was popping and skipping. Couldn’t figure out what I did wrong, went from hero to zero real fast LOL. Called a Ford dealer near me to get it fixed fast, told the service manager what I did. He said that car will never run on Champion plugs from Napa gotta be Ford Autolite. Of course that was the stupidest thing I’d ever heard but he insisted. Went and bought four plugs from him, stuffed em in and it purred like a kitten. I’ll be dammed,,,,,,Im old enough to remember the days when if it fit in the hole it would work Seems I learned it once again. Everything’s a sheet of ice up here. Park the Atv as close to the steps as possible. Havent walked anywhere out of my house since that last ice storm. Already pulled a Charlie Brown the day after. Driveways like 4” thick in most spots. You be careful down there too.
Sounds like a touch of arthritis. They do a little too much one day they’ll feel it for a few days after.
Luckily his woodyard is dark gravel and gets good sun so not a big issue, but across the street another story. Got stuck in the back on Tuesday. Had to walk the logs to the splitter as I didn't wanna get stuck in front. PITA but it is Winter.
I've had similar experiences twice. First was my wife's Nissan Maxima. Put the expensive plugs in (platinum) and bam, misses. Got on a forum and guys said use the basic copper core plugs. Problem solved. Next was the Jeep, same deal.
Yup, seen it dozens of times at the bike shop...anything that came in with a starting/running problem, and champion plugs, got an ngk post haste! That fixed the issue so many times...darn shame, champion used to be a good plug. My buddy built a 350 for his Monte Carlo, it kept blowing plugs out on the passenger side (porcelain out of the base) and Napa warrantied a handful of them, he changed brands and that was the end of it.
