Half cord load of sugar maple delivered to a new customer today. In 15 years of burning he said its the nicest firewood he's ever bought. Made my day for sure! :) He had come to the conclusion that a delivered "cord" was 90% full and a percentage of that wood was punky. He showed me what was left of his last delivery that he had neatly stacked. Some oversized chunks, plus another chunk that was half punk. :picard:Plus other loads that weren't dry. Typical complaints I hear. IMG_6828.JPG IMG_6829.JPG He wants to buy loads of fresh split wood to stack and dry himself. Ill be able to accommodate.

Wood boiler customer uses 36 " ish wood . And , they were Out of wood .
It was gusting up toward 70 mph in Delta and a good 30 + in the woods . Road was drifted in and I had to open up a new tops deck . And get the landing cleared so i had the room to move and deck wood . Then get to work with the wood. Wasn't a dark to dark day . But didn't get home till 8:45 .

Love seeing those big loads! If those logs you’re cutting are about 9 foot long and you can fit 1.5 cord on a load, do you ever wonder how much longer you could cut them and let them hang over, and still be confident they’ll hang on? 2 cord load? 2.25 cord load? I’m dying to see you try:rofl:

The biggest load I've hauled on this truck was 2 cord . I used to always deliver 12 foot wood . But the wood I had was dryer. It was all incinerated in the 2023 Pogo Road fire .
The wood I'm in now is wetter and heavier . But I still can do 1.5 cord loads of 8 to 10' long wood no problem .

Here's a 1.5 cord load of 12' wood . Didn't exactly snatch it from the flames . But it was the last load ever gotten from this area. Within 1 week , the whole place was as bare as the Moon 1722614157474.jpg

Face cord load of 2.5 year dried pignut hickory. Delivered yesterday to a FBM customer. Normally burns a cord or so but ran out. Complained about how much "crud" (loose bark, shards, dirt etc) he gets with his one cord load from the other wood guy.

He sends me this text this morning and I quote "I'm in love with this wood. If you get a load of hickory or oak let me know" I take it he liked it?

Looks like I have another new customer. He was willing to take fresh split too. IMG_6832.JPG IMG_6833.JPG

My wife and I were on a hike up the road yesterday when we came across this older Ford. Granted It’s not loaded now, but this old beauty was owned by a man who logged in the area, who has since passed on. I saw it loaded many times with firewood to keep his family warm over a period of decades. Now instead of plowing his landing, it is used to plow a private drive just up the road. If I would have seen it for sale sooner, I would have bought it for ours.

Half cord load of 2/3 dead ash, balance silver maple. He was so pleased he wants to buy a cord of green splits in the Spring. Third new customer in a row from FBM that wants wood in the Spring. Rare I sell any bulk wood in the off season. IMG_6857.JPG IMG_6858.JPG IMG_6860.JPG

That pic is an optical illusion. Looks like the red oak chunks in the background are part of the load.

You have REALLY spoiled your customers Eric. Done the FHC proud! :salute:
