Therapist took one look as I walked in and went "oh that doesn't look good". He had me do a bunch of stretching and light exercises and I was moving pretty easily. He changed a couple of the exercises to put less stress on lower back/hip. But by the time I got to my car afterwards I was getting very tight again and could barely get out of the car when I got home.

By last night I could barely walk again and didn't get much sleep. I see him again tomorrow so if the exercises still aren't working I think it'll be my last visit.

I rolled the 4000 watt HF Genny out of the basement yesterday and checked it out.
Started up on the 2nd pull of the string.....Ran like a top....
Let it run for 10 minutes and then shut off the fuel and let it run out......

WE SEEM TO BE READY ......

Well, the 70º days are gone for a while, replaced by lots of rain (had a gusher last night)......but still better than that white crap.

Unfortunately XRays are only as good as the person looking at them.

26 F this morning.....4" of snow yesterday that was light and dusty....Then last night came the sleet, freezing rain and more snow ....The back edge of this mess will pass over here in another hour.

Then the warm up.....50 F by Monday......But above freezing today.....
The cold air pouring out of the Columbia gorge shuts off with the passing of the last of this system.
Then its back to plain old rain and much more moderate temps...

I was nervous all night that the power would go off at any moment with the Freezing rain.
The snow we got was very light and fluffy and did not bend the tree limbs much.

I am looking forward to getting the Wiseway stove installed so we don't need the genny in the middle of the night.....

Just found out Medicare does cover acupuncture for lower back pain, now to find a good one locally. One I used 10 years ago for my Bell's Palsy retired.

Ended up cancelling my PT appointment for today. Was in too much pain to do exercises yesterday, not much better today.

Yesterday's storm was only 5 inch, weather guru's wrong again. Tonight was supposed to be 3-6, it's now saying 2-4.

The 12v switch that controls the snowblower chute has been acting up, order one on zon. Old one was a 8 pin, all the new ones are 7 pin. Some dumb chit that wired it used all black and red wires. The new switch had worthless china instructions. What could have been a 10 min job took almost a hour and testing every wire and pin.

    It's ready for tomorrow. :coldone:

Our driveway looks like a big ice floe . Was too slushy for the snowblower to do anything with it Thursday (glub-glub) so it froze. Drove the cars up & down so we have tread tracks, no issues getting cars out.

Layed down about 75 lbs of salt a couple hours ago to create a path from shed to front door so I can bring in pellets. As the forecast calls for cold for the next 10 days told Lori if she orders anything from Amazon to have it sent to the pickup lockers at the Staples in the next town over. USPS wouldn't drive up to deliver a package yesterday, had to go get it at post office, so I figure Amazon wont either.

My driveway is a lot of ice too - even the parts I didn't try to shovel. Fortunately it is flat, so the only issue is slipping and sliding while walking on it. I did put down some sand Friday, which helps. Most pathways I left untouched, so breaking thru the ice on top and to snow underneath provides secure footing. The only path I shoveled was between the gates behind the back porch, and I sanded that too. Was over at a friend's yesterday and sanded from her porch steps to her car for her (she had used ice melt on the steps, and the care was as close as she could get it, so not much). Also brought in enough wood to fill her bin by the fireplace as it was getting low. Her nephew was supposed to come up later in the day and bring in a wheelbarrow or two full of wood for her.

I expected a couple of inches of snow when I got up, But it doesn't look like much yet (1:30 am - but I didn't actually measure so may be more than I think). I don't think the real stuff is supposed to hit until closer to daybreak. Then it will be a wild ride between snow and ice. My area is in the 8-14" range and then 40-50 mph winds on Monday, so good chance for power outages.

Both of the last storms I timed it just right and was able to get to black top. Hoping to do the same today. Leave the sn*w to absorb the water from the rain, But get it before its too slushy. Much easier with the tractors bucket than it was with the snow blower. I gave up on that the first storm when I broke the chute clean out tool. So tractor be the new way.

I always hated the piles down by the road, So I back blade it and scoop the piles to dump up on top. Then drive through the last bit to push it uphill. Pretty happy with doing it that way. I need to get a sander someday. Hate chucking sand or salt by hand cus me old!! Having a 4x4 tractor has been super, Wish I had it at the lake house. 2+ hours of snow blowing turns into about an hour of playing!! :)

About 4" of sn*w with sleet and some rain on top so far. Hoping the temp rises a bit more and I'll start the clean up.

Looks like we got around 6-7 inches of snow. Debating going out to clear it now cause radar showing a lull for a while. Don't really have to go anywhere this week except for a PT appointment Tues. Gonna have to seriously consider getting a truck with a plow , I'm getting too old for this.

Snowblowed but I left a layer of snow over the ice. Not doing much of anything out currently, had a couple brief sleet showers.
