Makes it even better. Ill be 57 in a couple months and haven't gotten to the point where I require a nap, or desire to take one. I do fall asleep rather easily at night though. Hoard on and cut safe my friend.
Another customer came by yesterday for a $40 stack before snow moves in today. I delivered another $50 order to a repeat customer after work. Then I got busy moving and covering racks and totes so they don't become big ice blocks after the 4"-6" of snow we're supposed to get today. I also put the bucket on the skid steer. Bring it on. Picked up yet another load from the farmer yesterday. The splits are very random and fairly large. All of it was for inventory for the roadside stand. I set up next to one of the bundle grade racks and also had an empty tote for uglies and refilled 2 partial totes of bulk wood. Thought I'd share a photo of a visitor to the roadside stand. She didn't buy anything. Sent from my motorola edge plus 5G UW (2022) using Tapatalk
I picked up a new bundle customer. Referral from another customer. He's bought 130 bundles since last month. Yesterdays delivery of 50. What he had on hand. He likes to have a lot there. One of my former customers (he shut down to put in new tanks) will be wanting wood again soon. This will make seven stores I'm selling to. I could've had eight as another referred me as well, but I turned him away. Don't want to get in over my head if I'm not already.
Another customer stopped by while I was driving to high school girls basketball regionals. I'll refill tomorrow if the weather cooperates. Sent from my motorola edge plus 5G UW (2022) using Tapatalk
More snow came down overnight. I cleared off the driveway for the third time this season. It's important to keep it clear for the firewood customers! Sent from my motorola edge plus 5G UW (2022) using Tapatalk
Worked just a half day to use PTO that is nearly maxed out. A customer stopped to pick up a 2x2 $20 stack. I had to head out to deliver 1/3 cord of mixed hardwoods. The customer keeps a rack in his garage during the winter so the wood stays dry. When I got home I filled 2 empty bins in the roadside stand. Had a new customer call this morning needing some apple for smoking. Met him this afternoon for a $40 purchase. If they buy it loose I'll give them more. Gave him 30 pieces. Not fussy about size or quality. Gonna buy other species in the future and is referring me to a wood fired pizza place where knows the owner. If the pizza thing takes off I'll take oak and small split the heartwood.
That's great. The pizza place can sure reduce your inventory. We had talked with a place here. He was needing a truck load about every week to 10 days. Kinda glad it didn't work out.
Surprised by that Jeff. You seem to have ample logs on hand to supply him, no? I came close to picking one up as a client years back. Guy I knew owned the building and knew I did firewood so referred me to the wood fired pizza place that occupied it. He would need a half cord every two weeks. and wanted smaller sized splits. At the time I was roofing full time and only sold a fraction of what I do now so i turned it down.
