Will you bother to plow or just let it settle/evaporate?

62* in and 6* out, Cherry and Red Oak. I'm burning a lot more wood than recent years, probably 15 to 20% more. That's OK, I'll just have to cut more, I'm going to get on that soon.

-5 F outside and 72 F inside. Got our usual dusting of snow last night. It’s just enough snow that I’ll have to plow, so the driveway doesn’t turn to a skating rink. Burning Doug Fir.

    Stay warm, teammates!

    Love, Cash

-12 an hour ago. Preempively called and an excused tardy for kiddo assuming the roads would be an ice rink.

It's pretty much only here. Recall I lived in Bellvue (Livermore)? Never this cold or windy. And I'm a tiny smidge north of there now. Longer on the roads but maybe like 40 miles as the eagle flies.

Real light snow has started but we aren't going to get much. Maybe 2-3 inches. We might get more this weekend.

Agree about the forecasts particularly with The Weather Channel. They always go with the worst case, I guess to get ratings/viewers/advertising dollars. For here, I find the most accurate forecast from experienced, local TV channel meteorologists.

It depends. If we get 3" or more I'll at least clear the driveway. We are close to that time of year to get some afternoon thawing. I'd rather clear now than have it covered with ice after the overnight hard freezes.

I always remember that a reporters first job is to SELL COPY and INCREASE VIEWERS! Nobody cares if the truth suffers or not. A higher predicted snowfall always gets more people glued to the screen than a lower one! We get the same thing around here when high winds are reported. Six different TV Station vans will be clustered around the ONE tree in the area that blew over. All the reporters breathlessly commenting on and pointing at the "extensive" storm damage! I am now stepping down from my soapbox!

And it will be a hollowed out tree with rotted off roots and you should immediately find a safe space to cry.

Brrr. No wind but I can feel the cold through windows, in the negatives again tonight. Just so grateful we're coming up on spring! Both pellet stove and Blaze king running tonight.
