For years I have had a nagging SI joint (where the pelvic bones meet up to the spine basically)that occasionally would go out of place. Yes I'm old and moldy. This past Saturday at 2am I rolled over in bed and POP! I proceeded to spend the next 55 hours propped up in the only chair that could cradle me and not be excruciating. Monday morning I was at the chiropractor before he was there and was worked on immediately. From what I gather the joint slipped out so severely that it "locked up". 2 treatments in and I'm 35% better. This was a close second for most painful experiences in life. Still can hardly walk and laying down is impossible to get comfortable. What do any of you do to stay limbered up, for pain, to prevent, or home remedy?

I hope you recover quickly. When I had spine issues I went to a chiropractor and a spine specialist. I’m pretty sure I also went to a physical therapist. The PT will preach the importance of core strength and give you exercises to do at home. I mostly avoid heavy lifting with my back and continue to go to the gym. Walking is important to lessen and prevent back pain. Basically stay active to maintain strength and bone health.

Good luck with it. Maybe time for a brace?

Ugh. Skeletal issues are no fun at all. I have been trying to feed my joints more foods with gelatin in them. Your post hits home for me as I have a noisy left hip that I am fairly certain will become a problem for me.

Update... A couple more visits to chiropractor this week. I can walk a little but look like a hunch back. I can at least sit and be in minimal pain, still can't lay flat.

Misery. I'll spare everyone the lower back details.
My short answer is this..... Walking pad (small cheap treadmill from amazon). The more I utilize this tool the better my body responds. Amazing. I keep one at home, trout fishing trailer and down in FL for some winter escape time.
I like walking outdoors but am getting soft. To hot out. Nope. To cold out. Nope. Walk pad works every time. Set it up in front of the tv or book reading stand and go:thumbs:
    Just a thought for ya.
