    It looks similar to my 1st saw, the Husky 40. Bought it new in Mid-80's. Still runs well. The 45 is a bigger engine, I'm guessing.

    Correct. Unlike at the Stihl factory where some guy half in the bag wearing Lederhosen is busy throwing arbitrary numbers at model numbers like darts on the wall, Husqvarna uses model numbers that roughly correspond with engine displacement. :whistle: :popcorn: :rofl: :lol:

    Exactly. Echo seems to use some common sense with their model numbers as well.

    Haha. It’s a nice little saw, never gave me any problems. I just don’t need it anymore. I’m not going to brow beat anyone into buying it though :)

    Stihl numbers kinda make sense if you’re into the Dewey metric system. The “O” series saws were kWH output. The MS series loosely follows that kinda…

    On edit, and true to form you had to move the decimal around for it to work…
