Good morning, ya'll. Hope ya'll have a FABULOUS FRIDAY. 28° here in town, 48° later today, Clear. Last night of 7PM-7AM shift. Off today, so hope to cut, split a bit of wood this morning, then a nap...we're taking our retired pastor and his wife out for their anniversary dinner tonight.
Share a smile, lend a hand, be encouraging...

    Good morning, members.

    Decent day ahead. 15⁰/32⁰ sunny

Time to empty the wood ash barrel. I take it to the wooded area and broadcast the ashes in several places.

I'll also probably top off the deck wood rack.

Mrs MikeInMa has cataract surgery early this afternoon. One eye today. The other, next week.

    Be safe
    Be healthy

Morning all. Dark and windy out there this morning. Ridge of high pressure moving into the area so hopefully a few nice days.
Last day of work this week. It has been fun overall. As I don't do the complete job as I would if I was working fulltime, it hasn't been as intense so I can enjoy some of the activities of the students.

Prayers for a successful surgery for your wife MikeInMa
Thanks for the pictures of your area as well.
Enjoy your day off today. You have been putting in a lot of extra hours T.Jeff Veal

    Everyone have a great day.

The boys came home early with what we think is food poisoning, both were puking till around 3AM, they seem to be recovering now.....we think it was the granola Sam made on Monday......

Anyways, ya'll have a blessed day!

A bit of cedar action yesterday afternoon.... 20250123_145509.jpg 20250123_153133.jpg 20250123_155028.jpg

Good morning. Today is the start of a warming trend. Should be a nice morning at the lake. We plan on watching the NFL games by the fire this afternoon (edit: I guess we will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon).

Good afternoon, ya'll. Hope ya'll are having a SUPER SATURDAY. It was a chilly 23° when I left for work about 5:50AM. It has warmed up, should get to the 50's, in the sun...lol...still patches of snow in the shade or north side of objects. Won't be much happening on the woodyard this week...:(:(...
Sawdust Man hope the boys are feeling better
Woodwidow do you have to work next week? I'll turn in just 72hrs this week...:thumbs::emptywallet:
MikeInMa glad to hear the Mrs eye surgery went well.

    Good morning, members.

22⁰/40⁰ nice day ahead. Sun/clouds mix. I might even crack open a window or two, and let some fresh air in.

I went for another lake walk yesterday. Some I've fishermen said the ice is >8 inches thick. I'll be lake walking again this morning with my friend, Truckaa.

Football and probably a nap this afternoon.

Good morning. A little setback in our warming trend this morning…it is 6f. I heard it will be getting into the mid to upper 30s tomorrow, but windy.

good Sunday. Enjoyed the break in the weather. Felt like shirtsleeve temps yesterday. Will have a brief kaffeeklatsch with the neighbors, then off to a primitive/black powder gun show with one of my former coworkers.
Enjoy this day and safe hoarding!

Morning all. I missed yesterday as my morning started all weird. I wasn't feeling that great but as the day went on, I got better. After church we have children church so we can spend more time with them. They usually get to do a very sticky craft involving glue. Lots of fun. I hope your Sabbath day all went well.

Weather has been unreal. Sunshine with temps just above freezing. Fortunately no wind so it is nice outside. I think today will be another day like that.
Bookkeeping and football on the agenda for today.

T.Jeff Veal When I left work Friday, there was no indication that I would be working Monday. We will see what this evening brings. There is a lot of sickness going around right now. The job is only 34 hrs/wk with no possibility of overtime. Not the 12 shifts you put thankfully.

MikeInMa How often in the winter there are you able to walk on the lake? In this area there have only been a couple times in my lifetime that you would find a lake frozen enough to walk out on. Our freezing weather usually is never cold enough or lasts long enough to freeze a lake. We once took the kids ice skating on a frozen swamp which was interesting with all the weeds poking up.

Sawdust Man I hope the boys have recovered. A real gut wrenching experience.

    Everyone have a great day.

It's been several years since the lake froze over.

It used to freeze over every year. Mrs MikeInMa grew up on the lake. She says skates were always on someone's Christmas list. No more.

There's an ice fishing derby next Saturday. Again, something they'd have every year, but haven't without ice.

It's not a huge lake. It does have the town beach on it. Mostly private properties around it. Perfect size lake for a slow pontoon boat ride around it.
