Thanks for the visual, that makes more sense now. I've seen logs stacked like this at logging sites before in WV, and OH. Around my neck of the woods we call that a semi load, or a log load of wood. A log load of hardwood in my area is roughly $100 a cord. I've heard of guys selling crooked and gnarly stuff for $65 a cord in log form.
End of December I was delivering with the flu. I had lost so much fluid my heart felt like it was going to stop. I called one customer to ask if I could deliver early before I died. She recommended me to another friend that wanted wood the next day. This is the first week I have felt 80%. Today’s 50 deg temp should push me to 100. One afternoon delivery today and the list is clear.
Dedicated wood salesman you are. Not sure if I'd be out there feeling that bad. Although one customer ran out and I grabbed my coat and threw a wheelbarrow of splits on the PU and brought it over right away. Luckily he's right around the corner half mile away. Delivering a couple face cord of oak heartwood to my friend this week. Getting bundles ready for whoever is next. Gotta contact the new guy see if he still wants bundles. Expecting a regular to call for more very soon. Take care of your self and get busy restocking. Those big oak logs are a huge help. Last time I had the flu it took me a while to get back to 100%
Yes I am close to full force. The warm spell has downshifted the frenzy and my CL ad should be expiring soon if not already. Got 2 this Saturday and I’ve cleared the slate again. Found a 1 ton dump for cheap in N Wilkesboro. Cheap because there’s no reverse.
Tuesday was the first day in a month that I have been in town (took a 2 day ski trip) in a month where I didn't have any deliveries and it felt great! Have taken 3 orders since then but am out of town again this weekend so next week will be busy.
