My furnace was running the last 2 mornings when I got up. The 3rd and 4th times this season I think.

Have 0* this morning. Only coals left from overnight. BL and oak loaded. I had to turn the oil furnace on to help warm up the house. I hate running that thing.

Woke to a 67 inside temp. I didn’t leave the draft open enough for the 100% load of BL last night. I still have 1/2 a box full of coals.

Warm weather is on its way.

We have a mild 1 for outside temp.....above zero!! Inside temps is 71, in no hurry to fire up as the VF100 is still running blower intermittently.

If you use a marker to create a black dot for the laser, you may find that your temps read more true.

On my way in today there’s a creek crossing. The valley was frigid.

It warmed up a little last night. Went to bed at -5 and woke up at +1. Wind is blowing hard, but out of the south.

Boiler is still half full from last night's load of ash and random square wood.

wrapping the stove in bricks like that is going to make the stove run hot and prevent heat from getting out and into the house. I would’t cover it like that unless I had the blower running.

7 degrees here this morning which is cold for us. Tree of Heaven filled the wood boiler last night, down to not much left this morning but it did it's job.
