Getting to zero. Earlier today I cut up a bed load of branches and stuffed the boiler. Learning they made a great bed of coals about a foot deep. Filled with splits during halftime of the game. I can sleep in tomorrow.

I was mistaken on getting through a short time on the frigid stuff. Have to get through until Wednesday before it returns to the twenties, where it will be da****ed cold, rather than frigid.

hard work during css time. We are toasty warm for free with this blessing of firewood. Btw, blessing come dressed in coveralls and smell a bit like spilled chain bar oil.

8* " real feel -1." BL loaded for the night. Probably going to get up during the night to reload. Very still and quiet when I took the dogs out at 10 PM. Snowed yesterday may have to toss some ash at top of driveway for the ice.

23 & 74 right now. This morning was 11 & 66 when I left. For a few more days oak will be the order of the day, then we’ll get back to normal. What I see outside right now says, it’s gonna be cold in the morning. It has been dry with the cold so that has been a nice change.

Burrow in like ticks and keep warm Hoarders.

Yeah, that's too cold for me to cut in. I'm good to single digits above zero. No thanks below that.

Staying off which I'll need to get out and find some wood to cut and split, after this cold snap though

-7° out now. Supposed to get to-10° by the mid morning tomorrow.

69° inside after attempting to burn down the coal bed. Reloaded with honey locust oak and ash.

Stay warm, hoarders! We don’t usually get this cold, maybe every 3-5 years. The rabbits are showing their dislike for the cold tonight. We took them room temperature water and watched it freeze over in their bowls. The snow screams like styrofoam. The big doug fir round is still burning, but it’s getting small. We have been adding some splits along side it, but we will be back to regular firewood for the rest of the night. The dial thermometer is sitting against the peg, and the digital is at it’s limit. I want it to warm up so I can go ice fishing.

1 above again this morning. High of 6 with windchills -15 today, below 0 tonight.

Going to wait a few more hours before I head out to the boiler. Last night I put in some ash and started into some mystery square wood from the sawmill. Looked like it was mostly sycamore.

-29 this morning! Load of Oak in the stove. Looks like this will be the last bitterly cold day for awhile. 20 degrees tomorrow is going to feel like 50 after this!
