Little chilly feeding the cows at work this morning. Maple holding the house at 70 this morning for the misses.
BL in the stove and currently 34 which is the high for the day and temps will drop and drop. Srart of the week will be quite cold (for this area) with temps at night close to zero. Waiting for the snow today just to muck up everything.
Every time I was going to post my temps, it dropped another degree! -17/69 Wind chills about -36. Anyone wanna walk my dogs this morning? Still can't believe I used to go to work in temps much colder that these!
So far lowest my phone said was -15. Real feel -31. Soybean meal bin said it was too cold to work today, so, so far I have hand shoveled about 1500 lbs into the loader bucket this morning at work.. with 3 more loads of feed to load.
Nice looking stove set up you have! Yep, we have not had temps like predicted in our part of PA for years.
8 and 70 after getting things going this morning in our little micro climate. Colder yet tonight and tomorrow. I know it’s not much for many but this is pretty cold for most around here. Break out the stash of good stuff and enjoy Hoarders Owl
A little chilly here for the next few days. I think I like the news forecast over what the phone is saying. Need to get crap together for my 2:00 AM trip to Des Moines tomorrow.
New batteries fixed my thermometer. -2 this am at 8, Honey locust and ash in the quadrafire overnight. Same this am, but 50/50 ash to HL. Last night it was just 1 piece of ash
Either the forecast changed or I misread it. The cold is here! I thought I had another 12 hours before the temps dropped! 23 out when I started the fire at 6 a.m. 25/70 now, burning cherry, sugar maple and oak (red/bur).
Eh, it's good to know that it still works. The stove is still doing the heavy lifting. Also a good time to clean out ashes, clean the glass, etc.
The cold arrived a day earlier here vs what they said earlier in the week. By Thursday night/Friday they said that the bitter cold would arrive earlier.
-11 at the casa. Burning Ash and Aspen. 74 inside. I’ve got some more plowing to do today. Stay warm, friends!! Love, Cash
And I'll never forget that one day I never shut the truck off and had the radiator blocked with cardboard. Even though I bundled up big time I liked to froze just driving down the road. I don't remember the radio station I tuned in to but probably Iron Mountain. They were reporting -52 at the time (late morning). I also don't remember the high for the day but it was way below zero. I was really wondering how much longer I could enjoy that.
