That’s 10 miles away. We live in a low spot and it gets much colder here.

My lacrosse weather station is off. Way off. This recently happens. Right now it shows this. PXL_20250116_004927800.MP.jpg

It's actually 20° out. I checked 3 other sites and that's really what it is. Idk if I need to change batteries in the outdoor sensor or what.

My AcuRite works pretty good It's close with the readings at the airport that is about 4 miles away , it gets colder at my house though because of all the woods around
Once in a while it have a glitch for hot minute and say it's 145 degrees out or something :startled:

It’s the first snow we’ve had in 2 winters and the temperatures have been below average for an extended stretch.

Weve had such a mild winter so far. Its been below freezing for the most part with snow being on the ground for months now but no real cold weather that we are accustomed to. Some of our bigger lakes still had open water a week ago. On Sunday I hiked into a back country lake Ive ice fished for decades. I was able to fish but the lake only had 4.5 inches of ice on it with half of that being white ice. Normally it would be at least double that if not more depending on how much snow sits on the ice insulating it. Heres a few pics. The first one is my golden looking back across one of the lakes we crossed and the second is of her hiding behind the bushes next to the trunk of a big old larch tree. -1c/30f right now, the warmest morning in weeks. It looks like we are all going to get some cold weather and Im looking forward to having some normal winter temps for awhile. I have a reload of larch in the stove this morning. Have a good day everyone!

Woke up to 19* this AM, steady mix of maple and oak during the day with all oak for overnight burns.

Been hitting the wood hard this winter so far. Going to need to re-supply the shed and front porch over next few weeks.

We’ve been using it pretty good too. At least we have plenty to burn. Still have a pile of cutting and splitting to do on some of it, but it’s here and that’s the most important part.

I really am ready for spring. I have stuff I want to get done.

We hit a warm spell and got abover freezing today and same for tomorrow.

Ash and a couple suprise sticks of white oak in the boiler. I'm going to have to use tomorrow to burn down the coals before next week.

32* last night. 45* today. 33* tonight. Knotty Doug Fir splits in the Country T-top stove keeping it toasty inside. Last couple days have been splitting and stacking about 2 cords of Doug Fir rounds to keep warm outside. Been feeling lazy today and may just sit by the fire! We are expecting a cold spell (cold for Western Washington state) for the next week so may just spend time working in the shop. Hope all are healthy and well fed!

We picked up a bug somewhere and everyone got sick. It’s driving me nuts. I wanted to get my shop mezzanine put in over the last 2 weeks, but that isn’t happening.
