Passed a state crew cutting road side en route to a delivery Friday. Postponed his second load to yesterday as I needed a saw and time to cut. Mostly Norway maple with a bit of cherry and some red maple to top off the load. Nicked a rusty wire fence playing hide and seek. I found it. (pic #5 shows the partial cut until I found it) Shouldve realized the cedar poles were fence posts. Nice grab and close to the road to boot. That spot looks very familiar; is it one of your semi-regular places you've posted from in years previous?

Route 1 in Guilford. 15 minutes the other way from home. I go that way, but not often. Had I not had his delivery in the center of Guilford, I wouldn't have found it. Bundle delivery for today to Niantic postponed til tomorrow too. I'd rather cut on a weekday. My BIG wood score is just around the corner. PITA juggling score priorities!

TSC is right up the street so I stopped for bar oil. On sale for $8.99 but none on shelves. :picard:
Asked the boss and he said they have a case coming in today.

And to answer your question yes I have scrounged there back in 2022 IIRC.

Nice score! I've had the same experience with TSC when they run a bar oil sale. None on the shelf. Winter oil $30 Husky oil $37. What, do they stock up one case in preparation for the sale?

I am also an expert at finding barbed wire with my saw. Good score, where's your snow?

Yeah, not the first time I've hit it. The rusty color blends in well.

We had about an inch yesterday morning and a good amount had melted once I got to the score. The prior snowfall was a dusting. No complaints here. I prefer cold over snow any Winter. Extended forecast shows none either.

I saw bar oil in a TSC yesterday for $5.49. And didn’t grab any.

Just a reminder, they do price match. They also price match their own price from a different store. If it is $5.49 in one store just show it to them when you checkout and they will match it.
Not sure if there is any kind of limit ; maybe you can't do this for a pallet full but a couple gallons they will do.

Looks great! The traffic marker is a good idea, I'm going to copy the idea and start carrying one. Safety first, and it does make you look a little more official, for any nosy passers by with questions.

I have a couple just like it and am not afraid to use them. It's a busy road and lots of knucklehead drivers these days.

Safety is my main concern scrounging roadside. If the location has poor parking and /or a bad line of sight for traffic I don't do it. Not work it.

Another delivery took me the same way so the 400 made the trip too. Maybe a face cord of elm and dead ash. The ash still sitting there was too punky for my liking. IMG_6676.JPG IMG_6681.JPG IMG_6682.JPG More farther up where they were cutting today, but I'm done going that way for now.
