Finally had a break in the tough weather . Needed to split a 2 cord load I sold the day my truck engine took a down turn .
I have one just like that...mine has a couple teeth missing right about where a 16" split hits on the rack gear...
That's a cool little machine! What is it? I've got a SuperSplit, so familiar with kinetic but that is a different look.
It's a Timber Champ 7 ton electric powered Otherwise , it's the same as your Super Split . Just LITTLER
I have a couple that are ground down some right at the start of the cycle . Mostly caused by yours truly when I first got it and was babying the lever. Now, if a round is max length . I get the round in place , got behind the machine and really give the lever a hard fast pull . For 18" and shorter I just give the lever a normal pull or smack and hold . . Sometimes my move up pile is crowding my stand space so I'm standing near the front of the machine .
The Timber Champ may be little . But it's fast . And it don't get tired ! For the size wood I have . It works Great for how much it cost me .
I found that keeping the wedge honed up Really helps . What it lacks in snort . It makes up for in speed . And a sharp wedge really helps that . It will cut a healthy 2"dia spruce knot in half in 3 or 4 hits .
