    That thought would quickly vanish during spring with all the mud!......and summer when the dry spell shows up with all the dust! And all the washboard and holes!

    The thought would return in the fall with the leaves changing color and stay in winter when all the holes fill up and the road smooths out!!!

    Lots of dirt roads around here. I'm surrounded on 3 sides by them, so I know all about what you say. County does a decent enough job keeping up with them.

    Even with mud, holes and dust, still beats a backed up freeway or a road full of traffic lights anyday!
