I had quite a few requests for a calculator which could calculate wood or firewood volume from a tree. So I have built one similar to the original, outputs all the same information for the most part. But in your measurements you you can enter base and tip circumference, and height or length. If doing many trees there is an average size you can use to try and get a ballpark figure on many trees. Please let me know what you guys think and if anything should be added or changed. Tree Firewood Volume Calculator – Accurate Measurements
No, Just the trunk. I have been thinking about how I could have an option to allow for forks on single trees. Limb wood could be based on tree type as most trees have a known "structure", could be fun to try and see. But at which size limb does it start being considered?
You would almost need an option to keep a certain size diameter limb and the number and length of limbs. But at that point you could just enter the limb numbers for additional trees.
I don't harvest full trees that often but this guide is pretty accurate based on my experience. I harvest down to 3-4". Of course there's a lot of variables etc but still a decent starting point. Estimating Firewood from Standing Trees
