I had some mulberries in the yard that I wanted to get rid of since they grow so many more trees each year and they grow in the worst places (anyplace a bird drops a seed). I cut them down and painted the stumps with round up so hopefully the tree will suck down the round up at night, with the cold temps. I had some mulberries that I girdled twice and they just grow more shoots off the roots. :headbang: Originally I wanted lots of trees including mulberries, but then got sick of trying to get rid of the ones growing in the wrong spots.

Had to knock the cob webs off the 460 (literally a cob web in the handle) Haven't fired it up in years since buying the 660. 20250102_120949.jpg 20250102_121144.jpg
This mulberry was damaged from a fire about 35 years ago.

This one was growing in the perfect spot, right on the corner of the property. I wanted to keep it as a marker post. 20250102_150816.jpg 20250102_150820.jpg

I like Mulberry trees but they always seem to grow the best in the worst spots

Agreed. Its amazing how fast they grow but they burn super hot, season fast and have about as much btu's as Black Locust.

Eric Wanderweg and I would be foaming at the mouth for those. Kinda rare around here.

Have you tried pounding a few copper nails in the stumps? Old farmers trick to kill trees.

Does your mulberry pop like a machine gun too? Here when you open the stove, even hours after stoking the fire, mulberry will pop a spark out the door, that spark will pop into 6 pieces and those 6 will pop into 6 pieces each. Then start the process over. You almost need a pair of safety glasses to add to mulberry. Do you have the same experience?
