New Years Eve - Doing anything special?

Mrs. Suspect and myself are going to a neighbors house for an oyster roast. A few others in the neighborhood will join as well and everyone is bringing a covered dish. My wife is making a white chicken chili that is fantastic. We’re not big drinkers but I plan on enjoying a couple bourbon on the rocks while basting in the heat of a good bon fire. This is the first time we’ve gone out or had plans for New Year’s Eve in at least 15 years. Usually we’re home and in bed by 12:02.

 

Wife and I are staying home. Watching movies and falling asleep by 9 or so like old folks.

 

Get drunk and be somebody. Actually probably not do anything. The gun club hosts a turkey trapshoot on New Year’s Day so I’ll be going early morning to help setup. Ahhh gunsmoke aromatherapy all day.

 

A little hockey on TV, several beers, and probably in bed by 10. The plan is to go out for breakfast tomorrow while all the yayhoos and amateur drinkers are still in bed.

 

No plans to go out anywhere.

We'll have some shrimp cocktail and a few other things.

I'll probably doze off before going to bed.

If you do head out, please be careful. That other vehicle might not be as careful.

 

Staying home on what we call "Amature Night"
No need to go out just because of a date on the Calander we can go out any night so good night to stay home and safe.

Certainly, will be food involved, like Mike some shrimp for sure, not sure what else yet.

Staying at home and out of trouble, too many nuts on the road for me.

 

I have a meeting to go to, after that it’ll probably be a little tv time with the wife and probably in bed by 11:00pm

 

Stuffed mushrooms in the air fryer just got added to the list.

Oh.. and I found a bottle of Margarita mix.

Shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, fake champagne with the kids... That's about as rowdy as it gets at the house these days.

 

We're setting the alarm for 11:45. Then back to bed at 12:05

 

Thats funny.

 

The wife has headed to Texas Roadhouse for takeout. We are having ribs, baked potatoes, and a salad. I always get two meals out of their servings. We'll be awake to witness the ball drop in NYC. I can't imagine those thousands of spectators trapped in blocked-off areas, unable to leave for a bathroom break (for hours and hours), and it raining. Umbrellas are not allowed, neither are back packs. I bet a vendor could make some money selling adult diapers.

 

LOL this is us all the way.
Eat dinner , fall asleep on couch watching the Times Square nonsense, wake up just before midinght ; ball drops and in bed about 2 minutes after 12.

 

I picked up the oysters today to make oyster stew for supper tonight. I may take a nap before supper and in bed by 10. The new year comes whether or not I am up to see it.
