Found a Sachs Dolmar 114 in very good condition. Starts easy and runs great. Will need a new bar and chain so this is a PHO basically. Seller is firm at $250.

Certainly don’t need it but I do like it.
Is this a fair deal? Opinions appreciated.

Have you bought it yet? Some pictures would help us decide if we want to help spend your money. :saw:

I’ve committed to the purchase, so basically yes.
No pics but will post some once I get it home and on my bench. Trying to decide what bar I’m going to put on it.

250 is way too much for 40+ year old saw without a bar. Maybe 100 if it runs if a nothing is missing/broken. Around here anything small cc and old is almost impossible to sell

I was wondering the same thing. I didn't know if something was collectable with that particular saw.

Maybe so, but it’s solid saw in great condition and I’ve always liked the classic orange and black Dolmars. Plus, it’ll look darn good on my bench.

Sure are. I paid 350 for a nice 034 Super and it’s worth every penny. It has amazing compression and fires up quicker from cold than new saws. The cutting power is amazing for an old 86 vintage saw. Compared to new 60cc saws reaching for $1000 it is a bargain. $250 for a solid good condition 50cc saw with no hot start problems or missing screws is a good deal.
I’d pay $350 for nice 034 Supers all day. The caps are attached with metal chains ffs.

I agree 100% bud. Heck, I have a vintage Remington, 34cc saw, that I paid $280 several years ago. It was new in box and it resides in a display case. Never has had gas and oil in it. It was worth it to me.

I have a Dolmar made Makita that is 39cc. I got it free but I like it so much it's wearing an XS sticker on it now. You know what that costs. Lol
