I have a mostly stock 395XP Brazil made saw. It has a Jack Beelar muffler on it and I swapped to an unlimited coil. It runs excellent and has plenty of power in its current configuration, ported it would be an absolute beast. I also have a 7900 Makita that’s ported by huskihl and is pretty much my go to saw now. If you look around you can get into a new 7900 ported for right at or less than the cost of similar sized saws of Husky or Stihl brands. It’s doubtful I would have purchased the 395 if I had already owned the ported 7900. I have no experience running ported 550Xp’s, but I can tell you if I could only own 2 saws it would be a ported 7900 or 500i, and a ported NE346Xp.

I gotta throw out a dark horse. The 95 beats it in terms of raw power, but these saws are not slouches and are said to handle better than the 95s. If I were to go bigger than 80cc this would be my next. They're getting scarce now. The big brother to your 372.

You need a ported saw Brad, you just don't know it yet.

Here is the same model saw, ported by someone else (Mike Lee) in boxelder.

Was that tulip? I was joking that it was?

With my part time gig bucking logs I kinda wish I had a ported saw now. Not that there's a problem with my work performance or I get paid piece work.

Y’all are a great influence, thanks for posting video examples, heading down the ported 592 rabbit hole. Looks like I’ll be getting the saw to use this winter and spring, until it’s turn in line at Kevin’s shop.

    Thanks y’all!

Dealer about an hour from here had them on sale for $850. I was tempted to buy another.
