I visited that AMA museum a couple years ago. To someone passionate about motorcycles, it’s an amazing place. If I ever get the chance, I’ll go again.

I'm less than an hour from it. I had up until now not visited due to some poor reviews from friends 20 years ago when they didn't have a lot to exhibit. It has filled in nicely since, but has room for more yet. My buddy and his son are active in GNCC racing and he wanted to go up to collect their pins. He gave the guys at the desk his cards and they produced 9 little pins of various design. Members get one pin per year of membership or something like that and he had not sent out for them for several years. It's a nice museum. None of what they have on display was uninteresting. Each bike has it's own unique look or function or past rider. If I'm ever south of the Carolinas again, I will make whatever accomodations I need to to be able to go to Barber Motorsports. Bucket list. Wouldn't mind going to see crazy Ken at New England Motorcycle museum as well. Flirting with exploring the north east for the first this time spring so that may be doable.

Made up a few bags on Saturday. Painted a couple small pieces of plywood for signage. Was wanting to set the stand out but realized that I do not have my pallet forks for the tractor. I loaned them to a buddy some time ago and forgot about them. Gotta go fetch them.

Had a volunteer yesterday and was able to get the tree on the river bank down (without dropping into river, pull job) and tossed onto the burn pile. American elm. Failed to get pics. Split about a face and a half afterwards.

Dunno if anyone would be interested. I'm trying to get as many carb tools compiled as I can. Was privied to Echo limiter cap puller numbers today and decided to order a couple. Search part numbers for model specific applications.

Cap tools showed up Saturday. Got rained out (ain't said that for a while). Made and stacked 1/2 cord yesterday in the sunshine.

Makita parts order starting to show up here at work. So wish they still had 24" loops of LGX. I think I have enough of the 20's now. The rest must be coming from other warehouse.

Now we're talking. The Gurus tell me to pick up a clutch assy. for the 7900 and also an oil pump drive when I asked for prone to fail parts. There's stuff for 3 different saws, a backpack blower and hedge trimmers in this mess.

Had six pieces of bacon left when the dust cleared. A little dissapointed it didn't sell out but was well received.

Got a little wood made over the long weekend. Tough keeping the hands warm with the recent temp drop and my body not being acclimated yet.

    Screenshot_20241203-064746.png

The hickory is now all processed stacked. Above is me moving into some white oak and back into the woods for processing.

I somehow survived this without adding any saws to my pile.

Went and got my 3pt forks back Saturday. It was cold and blowy. Gathered up some branch wood I had tossed aside on a couple of trees earlier.

Hickory with a couple of HVBW limbs.

    1000000440.png

    Yield.

    1000000442.png

Went up and busted these shorties that will become 'Solo splits'.

    1000000443.png

Grabbed some straps yesterday morning. Ended up needing to use a couple of 4x4's to get some height. Let's Gooooooo!

    1000000444.png

Pretty sure this is where it will stay. There's a bit of a pulloff where a little road that used to be a culdesac that's now a gravel drive/road. Should be safe for drivers to stop.

    1000000445.png

Stocked it with a dozen bags just to get a toe in the water.

Went up to the stacks and made 15 more bags to stash in the shed so I don't get caught off guard if they start to move.

    1000000446.png

Ended my day at Steak n Shake.

Missed this post. Stand looks great. Hopefully they start selling right away. Keep us posted.

Week 1 yielded zero sales. I did get the uglies added yesterday. 3 or so sacks worth for $10. I'm not in a great area to sell without the summer activities....camping boating fishing. Most of these folks down here got their own stash. Not costing me anything to sit there and will pay for itself with only about 30bags of sales I reckon. Tick tock.

Busted and stacked a little cherry yesterday. Was going to get the white oak too but I'm not sure yet where I'm going to stack it and I was feeling a little odd.

Decided to burn a pile off last night. So much bark.

    Screenshot_20241215-175511.png

Got rid of all of it.

Woke up pretty sick this morning. No bother. Rained all day. Didn't feel bad laying in bed.

Did some scouting yesterday. Didn't hit the jackpot but did find another White oak that's not far from the big one I been planning to massacre soon. Not real big, but whole bunch of nice rounds.

Gotta make a temporary trail down to it. Buggy is parked on existing trail pointing towards the other woak.

    1000000538.png

I predict a whole bunch of splits coming from this one.

    1000000541.png

Big straight beech down across the valley. Need helicopter to get at.

    1000000540.png

Hoping to get started on the bigger one tomorrow or Sunday. Looks like ground is going to be soft and wet next couple of weeks.

Ground was mucky on top yesterday. Ended up selling a couple of loads to a guy for his shop. One load of primo, one load of A hole pieces.

Ground hardened up enough last night (and wind died down enough for me to tolerate) so time to get the tractor out. Coldest thing I ever do is sit on top of an open cab tractor.

Had to clear just a few saplings to make way.

Always try to work smarter. This is to hold up the end of the second log so I can get a chain under it.

    Screenshot_20241222-193835.png

First log out. Left good wood on butt because it was split. I'll get the rest of the good meat soon enough.

Road holding up good. Just a mudvane down the middle from the logs.

May as well get the other one since I'm already out here.

Got two nice ones off this. Top is still there. I'll go back and see what I can scrounge later.

Did a little bucking yesterday. Couldn't muster motivation to do much else.

    Screenshot_20241224-092948.png

Did move the tube feeder up by the lick. A coworker has a side gig selling mixed feed for deers. He gave me a sack for Christmas. I'm hesitant to start feeding because I'm still seeing signs of pigs occasionally. Don't wish to encourage. Christmas treat for the herd. (Molasses inside)
