Did a quick wood inventory and I came up a little short of where I wanted to be....only about 17.5 cord...was hoping for 20. I have another pile of rounds that will get me to about 19. I'm hoping to be able to get back in the woods, but it is so damm weedy I'll probably wait until after the first freeze knocks it back a little....daylight in the evenings is pretty much gone by the time I get home from work anyway.
These short days are slowing down the wood time. Got home from work yesterday, brought the splitter up to the wood yard, split awhile and put away the splitter. Of two hours' daylight available, one was spent splitting but the other bringing and returning equipment.
I wish some of you guys were closer....I'm up to my EYEBALLS in wood. Still have over a dozen sizeable jobs slated, too. With calls coming in several times a week...... Just the past 7 days I've cut and split over 2 cord......I'll be working a big Norway maple tomorrow morning, that tree will amount to another cord or so......Also have an eastern cedar that will be coming down some time this weekend!!
Tomorrow AM might be spent splitting that pile of rounds. If need to get some more rails or pallets to stack on.
I hear ya.i got three 16'dump trailer loads of rounds and stuff needing split and stacked.Just as soon as I get the shed roof on some of that will happen hopefully
