Our little church started a mission project several years ago. We found out that some kids really depend on the school meals for food, well, Christmas break is about 2 weeks long. We order easy to fix items and put them in plastic drawstring bags, coordinate with the school consultant to place bags with kids in need...
We picked up most of the items from Sam's Club last Thursday...and small jars of peanut butter from Dollar Tree Saturday evening...

We unloaded the trailer and got items staged Monday morning... 1000015790.jpg
At 4:00PM volunteers formed a walking assembly line... 1000015792.jpg
Then more folks showed up... 1000015793.jpg
In 1 1/2 hrs, we had 500 bags packed, loaded on trailer, boxes broken down and loaded on another truck... 1000015794.jpg
    Each bag got...
    1 can chicken noodle soup
    1 can beef ravioli
    1 can Vienna sausage
    1 small jar peanut butter
2 boxes Kraft mac & cheese
    2 packs Ramen noodles
    2 packs instant grits
    2 packs instant oatmeal
    1 pack Lance crackers
    1 pack sweet cookies

The bags will be delivered to 3 schools Wednesday, with kids getting a couple bags spread out over a few days before break..

Awesome job. Our school district does something like that but not on that scale. That is a lot of organization.

    Very nice! :handshake:
Our church participates in something very similar...it's surprising how many kids, even in an area that most would not consider "poor", fall into the "food insecure" category (not much, if any food at home, and little means to purchase more)

We got the bags delivered Wednesday morning. We went to 3 different schools...
Primary / Elementary school got 150 for each side...
Principle is holding the wagon, teachers helped too.
    IMG_20241219_183317.jpg
    High School got 21 bags...
Joel, our church member, helped coordinate with the schools, he does 1 on 1 teaching with kids...even going to their house for test, if they're out. IMG_20241219_183323.jpg
Middle school got 150, lot of kids helped unload, so no pics...
A school consultant picked up 29 bags for the alternative school.
It was a blessing to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
