Just put a couple splits of sycamore on, rainy cool day out side at 41/71 inside. Made it out for church as it warmed up over freezing. Got the stove full and my spiritual tank full. Rain expected till late tonight.

Rained here all night. Everything is coated in ice and the snow is gone. 30’s outside and warm inside. I’m waiting for my brother to show up and get his backhoe cylinder that I rebuilt and his plow control that I “fixed”. His digital controls keep going bad, and I hear it is quite common. I gutted it and tossed the circuit board and wired it up with push button switches. We’ll see how it works when he gets here.

37 and the high was 39. It will be Red and White oak uglies from here on out. I must have gotten oak focused/greedy 3 years ago because I have a lot of big uglies, shorts and what I’m going to call short slabs to burn.

Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

    Occasionally is a major understatment.

Supposed to be pretty nice for the next few days. 20’s and maybe 30’s. Time to get some bunnies processed and work on the shop and sawmill. My brother’s plow control works great.

Aw heck, I'll take the mild temps whenever they're handed out!

We both know that cooler days are coming. Even though man declares that the seasons "begin" on such and such a day, nature just laughs and goes through it's cycles anyway! (Similar to changing the clocks? :picard:)

32 with flurries. Woke up to a couple inches of snow, but the warmup is underway. Burning white oak, cherry and sassafras again.

was just around freezing earlier this morning with a mix of snow and rain , about 1 inch on the ground. Warm inside with oak doing its job. Tonight is stove cleanout so just a small fire earlier to fight the dampness.
