The Lake Effect snow will stay South of us. Like normal. Glad about that!

29 outside but feels warmer because there's no wind. Supposed to get nasty this evening with wind and rain/snow.

Hickory in the boiler. Threw 5 or 6 pieces on this morning...should be good until tomorrow.

About the same conditions here as Eric. I did a small fire this morning just because of the rain and dampness plus the dogs needed to lay by the fire after going outside this morning. Who's got the life?

16 deg F out, 71 in. Forecast is for the first below zero night of the season. Adding one hackberry and one slippery elm when we feel a chill. A good furnace blow and then one red oak chaser for the next chill followed by a good coal pile. Repeat and we stay between 69 and 71. So far, the furnace has stayed in the operating range and no changes to draft. If the wood pile were half hackberry and half slippery elm, I could "live happily ever after"...

Snowed like a screaming banshee at times yesterday and today. Winds picked up and temps dropped today. Plowed once yesterday and once again today with intentions of once again tomorrow.

Temps now are almost at 0. Inside temps of 69.

58⁰ and pouring. Not burning anything. Maybe tomorrow.

It'll be red oak when I do.

38 fired up some oak. So long 60 degree days. It was nice being reminded of what December in the South is supposed to be like.

Temperature is at 34 now with a drop of a degree per hour until it gets to 18. High of 31 tomorrow. I went out today to pick up some white oak cuts but checked a hickory I had cut on last spring. Located some rounds and loaded them up with some maple rounds. Split them and am feeding that for today and tonight

a toasty house is the objective for all. Stay warm tonight wherever you are in the world.

Ash burns. Still raining here. So glad it was warm enough for all this to be rain. We probably would have had a foot of snow if it was colder. Might change over to snow but the low is only forecast to be 34 while the precipitation last. Then it’s going to get colder. Fingers crossed that is after it’s gone!

13° out and dropping. 77° in the stove room.

Red oak, and Honey locust in the quadrafire. Furnace is quiet aside from the house HVAC fan running a few minutes an hour that I programmed it to do with the smart thermostat.

This is without a proper blower for the insert. I have a small fan blowing at the insert, but not through it like the regular blower does. New fan arrives tomorrow.
