Very nice. Regarding species, you have the ones I burn covered but since there is quite a difference in btu's in the oak and maple species, maybe split them out. Oak, white and red, maple red and sugar?
JDU This is done. Birch is now white birch and yellow birch Oak is now white oak and red oak Maple is now red maple and sugar maple
Few small updates to the mobile version. If anybody would want to imbed the calc or even have a full version on their site it is pretty simple as I created an API for it.
Nicely done. I like how it gives the heating oil and propane equivalents. I bookmarked the site, it will come in handy. I process alot of BL and cherry. Be nice to know mulberry, walnut, hackberry, and some of the lesser BTU species. Thanks for sharing your hard work.
I have a bunch of honey locust and mulberry on deck to burn soon. And I guess it depends how many you want to add but not all hickory is equal. Shagbark is in its own class IMO.
Does anyone know of a loose or thrown in cord calculator . I'm looking for one for my truck and trailer . Or just a pile of rounds or splits . Thanks .
Been busy stacking wood! Old man winter though is chasing me out of the yard for a bit, so I am getting back to work on the calculator. On the to do list: - Adding a few more wood types - Toggle to switch between metric and imperial - Ability to select more than one wood type, this will allow for calculating mixed loads - French version Old man winter is also chasing my dog haha.
Sooo I got the multiple wood types completed today, mixed load calculations now possible! You can select up to 4 "WoodTypes" and set a % for each (must equal 100%). Weight and BTU totals will be affected by this change.
The calculator has been used 500 times in the last 24 hours, great to see! The calculator now supports mixed wood. You can choose up to 4 different wood types and BTU + weight results will be affected by this. Few more things incoming: - Option to use it in "stack" mode or pile mode for loose piles. - Switch between metric and imperial - Some more wood types to add - In stack mode options to set number of rows and gap size. - Option to set wood stove / burner efficiency %.
The following have been added as requested: mulberry, walnut, hackberry, honey locust, Shagbark (Hickory)
