My 73 year old cousin has a small high efficiency wood stove in her living room, and used to have a source of wood from a friend who gave her cut offs and ends he got from a wood processing facility. Unbeknown to her until now, that resource dried up. She sent me a message the other day with a picture of her and grandkids at the pallet mill loading scrap boards on the pickup truck. I called her as I get them there too, is good stuff, but too wet to burn immediately. But she said she had no firewood because of the circumstances. Being one who cannot stand to hear of people burning wet wood, and the fact that she is a very good person and not lazy and her husband developed Parkinson’s and cannot cut wood or help, I loaded up and gave her a DRY load of boards and blocks to help her out. Happy to do it too! She is now going on my firewood Christmas gift list for the unforeseeable future.
Four. A pickup load to three of them, and the other is boxes full of short small stuff for his wood cookstove.
