I'm two years late in finding this thread. I have a Husqvarna 450e. It's not a "Rancher ", I have never figured out the difference.
Regardless, it is the most annoying saw that I've run/owned! It starts readily when cold. When it's hot, my 450e is an absolute bear to start. I've tried every combination and permutation of throttle & choke settings and the saw will start easily once it has cooled off.
The worst part of the Husqvarna 450e is the single stud bar retention! This saw randomly and frequently pukes the chain off like no other saw I've run. Cutting with it yesterday, w/in 10 cuts the chain came off. It made my mind up to get an Echo CS-4910 assuming HD still has them after the holidays. If not I'll bite the bullet and order a CS-501P.

Or step up to an XP Husky. You won’t regret it.

Nor would I. Certainly good saws, but I cannot rationalize the premium over a professional Echo when cutting under 15 cords a year. Good though!
