Ha! While sawing, dad ventured over to a very old dump pile. Found that gear so I loaded it up for him. Heavy indeed. Probably end up as decoration at their place but no doubt I will end up with that someday as a memory of the day.

I would cherish a day like that with my Dad also. I have some of his tools and his Winchester model 12 pump gun. I think of not only him but that whole generation often.

No, I’m one of those that rarely update anything. If it works as is, leave it alone.

Truck load of ash headed to the porch. Stacked this wood in early 2019. IMG_3250.jpeg

Had to readjust metal on the stacks. Shanty town hoard ftw.

There isn’t going to be any snow or ice down here. I guaranteed that by getting a couple tons of sand the other day. Plenty for the steep parts of the drive and then some.

Finally got over to Number #2 Son's and DIL's place to get the second load of mainly boxelder cut about 5 or 6 weeks ago. Poor Buick hauled the load fine I just took it slow and easy driving home. Anyone else notice the sketchier the load and the slower you drive the closer people tailgate? Must be people that have never towed a trailer with a sketchy load in their life. "Why are you 6 feet off my tailgate? Do you really want a log to fall on your car?" None fell out but come on people, think. IMG_2748.jpeg

    Sweet looking load there:thumbs:

Been there done that. I HATE tailgators. One of my major pet peeves. I go slow to begin with and even slower with a heaping load of wood. Been known to go even slower with my flashers on.

The trailer is 4 1/2' by 8' and the temporary sides are 4' high. I had a lot of weight being all green wood. :) I did pull over a couple times and let people pass.

It burns like a dream. The wood is cut short, I used to have a smaller stove. At least it’s not too long and every piece needs cut down.
