026 loose screw

    Bought a used 026 several years ago. Great saw but didn't have a dog on it. Put 1 on with the stock nut and bolt. After a couple of weeks the hardware loosened up and fell out. Replaced with longer machine screw, double nutted with locktite, same thing. Been just keeping extra screws and nylocks in my toolbox. Other than zipping small weld on the fasteners any one got a better idea?

    A lock washer, plus a nylock nut, plus a second nylock nut to use as a jam nut, and it might hold. Although that seems way over the top :whistle:

    Wait, steel lost a screw?!?!?! :) :whistle:




    I use blue loctite and I never loose any.

    Butcher could the loctite that you used had sat around a while and gone bad ?

    Hard to believe that a new nyloc nut would loosen. Maybe try a castle nut with a pin?

    Take it off and clamp the threads with a vise grip and reinstall the nut.
