Howdy Folks: I don't NEED more sanders, saws, shop vacs etc. But Festool keeps popping up and reviews are off the charts. There are some dusty projects coming up and the Festool Cleantec 15 Dust Extractor is getting stupid-good reviews. Is a $420 Shop Vac really that good? My current Rigid vac is loud, cumbersome and ugly but it, well, vacuums. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
I have one of their CT26 hepa vacs. I was leery about buying because of the price however it is awesome , I use it mostly as a plug in dust collector on tools. It is made to plug directly into the dust port on most tools. Since my wood shop area is in the basement and not really the best spot to be making dust this thing really helps. Ther is honestly zero dust , I just used a couple days ago with the biscuit jointer and no clean-up at all when I was done. Expensive but they do work. It is NOT a shop vac so to speak for doing floors but a great help controlling dust.
Everything I've seen says they make the best stuff out there, but for the kind and amount of stuff I make I can't stomach the price. I might get hot on a few projects and spend 20 hours a week in the wood shop, or I might go 4 months without making a single flake of sawdust. If I knew I would use it more often I'd probably have the sander, dust collecter, track saw, and domino.
I would love to have one of their track saws , would be a help getting boards to width from the sawmill instead of the circular saw and a straight edge. However, Right now that's not happening.
