Anyone ever use one for firewooding? Found a couple for sale on FBM and the thought popped into my head. Axe on one side, pickeroon on the other. Log into Facebook
This was in a shed at our cabin when we bought it. There is a very faint “PFD” stenciled on the fiberglass handle. Portage Fire Dept? Pardeeville? Pewaukee? Point Edwards? Who knows how it walked to this property,,
I don’t think I’d like my pickaroon to be that heavy. I use it for unloading the truck so usually trying to reach far w/ one hand.
I think you’re right. It’s a heavy well built axe. I think it’s best use is opening cars doors or chopping a hole in a burning house. I did try it as a pickaroon at the cabin on some pine rounds. It worked well. But then I dropped a red oak? It laughed at me as a pickaroon and as a splitting axe. It stuck horrible in every oak round I tried to split.
