I have 2 splitters, both are about 20 tons, one is electric and the other is gas vert/horiz. I use the gas vertical to bust them down and then the electric with 4way to make firewood. Works great, especially when I can use the bobcat to move the heavies.

I thought about making a splitter for the bobcat, but that would require a lot of slewing which would tear up the ground. I like to keep the torn up ground to a minimum and this bobcat is pretty easy on the yard.

I actually just got a load of stone to put down where I process to keep the mud to a minimum, DSCN0370.JPG the tree services that use my chainsaw shop are always looking to get rid of the big wood so having the skid splitter works well for me to pre split I can bust them up and stack the last split then I bring the other splitter and elevator down and put the wood right in to 1/3 cord bags so the ugly splits are not a problem for me because I do not stack anymore I will get you a picture of the whole thing set up next time JB

if you look at the pan under the grate it has a pretty good pile of slivers it usually does not matter to me I burn everything every bag has about a gallon bucket of slivers in it the bags also sit outside so they always get leaves and twigs in them from the trees I do need to modify the tray loading the bags is at a lower angle than loading into a truck so I need to trim it to let it hang lower JB
