33° out now it was snowing a little here. Box elder and ash in the quadrafire. 74° inside.

They are saying the snow will be heavy in the am, 6 am -noon. 2-4" wet heavy snow that will stick to the roads.

-7c/19f and snowy. Looks like mother nature turned off the heater in our part of the Rockies finally. Its about time the lakes started their freeze over. Ive been shoveling snow in between work appointments although we havent had more than 4 inches today. If I dont keep up on the snow and ice in the driveway it will just get thicker and thicker until spring. We dont get much melting during the winter so any snow I drive on in the driveway or dog turds you leave in the yard bites you hard in the spring. Changed the oil in the snow blower the other day and put 10 days worth of wood in the garage just now. Im waiting on the coals of a pine/spruce cycle so I can load the stove with larch for my overnight burn.

Those are really good guesses. I’m going to try to dig it out of there. I’ll report back with my findings.

Looks like the run of beautiful weather we have been having here is about to end. The forecast for the next ten days shows highs starting to get only into the low 40's with lows in the 20's by the first week of December. No complaints from me, this is what our winters should look like. Full time burning is coming fast.
We are finally getting some much needed rain with a thunderstorm that woke me a few times last night and more steady rain coming tomorrow.
Cash Larue , I can't wait to wake up to some white stuff on the ground here!

35 was the wake up temp., received much needed rain last night. Under a WSW for late today into tomorrow, up to 12 inches expected but it is all elevation dependent above 1500ft....we are above that level so we shall see.

45 and raining. Started out this morning with sassafras and cherry, and I just reloaded with a couple elm chunks/shorts.

Like most the colder weather moving in. Still burning kentucky coffee tree, I have half a cord left to go through. Most likely we'll have a morning and evening fire from here on out.

66/32. Been windy here for days. Got up to a dusting of the white stuff this am. I'd let the stove burn down overnight to clean ash this am. Back up and cruising now. Mostly Ash.

I’m always excited for snow too!… Until I have a few white knuckle drives to work in it. That’s when I’m about done with it.

But, I am planning to teach my oldest son how to snowboard this winter. I’m really excited about that!
