My wife asked me, What are you doing on Saturday...I said heading to Walt's to help split some more wood! Lucky...I went back and looked, it is next weekend the 16th. I will have to see what is happening next Saturday now.
Yes it is , got everything set up today. Made soup yesterday and finished my new splitter. Should have good weather tomorrow and what we don't get done I will finish before it winters up on us .
what was left when we called it quits today. If the conveyor didn't jam that would have been processed also
Knocked out a few more cords today for sure! Thanks for the Amish pastries and potato soup for lunch, it was good! What did you say that was called again walt?
Some more pix. piles approaching an estimated 50 cord. Time for donuts and pastries And a tall tale or two from Walt's colorful life. Steve unleashed some XS on this pile of logs. The FHC mystery man. Must get this razor sharp... King of the firewood mountain. Excellent weather for a November day in Ohio. Most of the folks here today were non FHC member friends of Walt and the logs are pretty well put in their place for delivery by Walt for the 2025/26 heating season after seasoning next summer.
Great job, ya'll. Looks really good, and it's nice knowing it will go to help families out thru his wood ministry
Time for donuts and pastries View attachment 436360 Thanks for calling me out I was trying to hid the donut
A big thank you to the FHC members that came yesterday Steve , Dave , Monty ,and Dave . There were eighteen who came to help yesterday and they knocked it out of the park. I have about a day of splitting left and probably about a day of cleaning up sawnoodles and bark. The weather was perfect for woodcutting, it is rare to set at a picnic table and have lunch on November 16. We used six splitters , three elevators , two loader tractors , and one bucking trailer. I think a good time was had by all. Thanks Again
