    What a nice aroma…saw cut thru it like butter the log had been sitting a very long time…behind is some oak and locust cut over at jbsawmans IMG_3907.jpeg

    Yeah i was running my homelite xp1000 because we were cutting alot of filthy locust

    Youre not kidding there. Pin oak can be some pungent stuff.

    Something I've never done and not on my bucket list either. Mebbe my own when I'm old and incontinent enough!:rofl: :lol:

    Yes Rick was using his xp the 404 semi chisel is way more forgiving in dirty wood than full chisel 3/8 we had my 592 there but with the speed of that and 3/8 chisel it goes dull in no time on the dirty old logs some of these have been sitting @8 years in this pile I am trying to salvage what I can before starting on the newer stuff thanks again to RickyBlazin for the help JB

    Cedar and locust is a great mix for my fireplace. Locust burns hot and coals up well while the cedar burns with bright flames and lots of popping and crackling.
