A buddy of mine found this splitting froe while cleaning out his Fathers old shed. Was going to froe it away but dropped it off for me instead. Newer handle but the blade appears to be very old, forge welded and possibly made from a truck spring. Or maybe not. It has been used hard and hammered on with a steel mallet instead of a wooden one. Still a usable tool but I don't know if I want to do a bunch of grinding on it. My shake riving days are over so it will probably go on the wall in the shop. Many thanks Brian!
