We had a wind storm last night and a huge oak fell across my front yard. I can handle all the cutting, but dont know what to do with all the limbs/branches. Are tree companies at all interested in small chipping jobs? I don't own a truck or a car with a hitch, so renting a chipper is not very easy.
Does your vehicle have a receiver? The place around here that rents equipment includ8ng chippers will deliver them for like an extra $30.
There’s folks I call brush packers that might do it also. They load brush up on trucks and trailers and haul away. There might be a landscape company with a chipper. In my experience tree companies are not well motivated to do small $ jobs but you might find one needing work in the winter months.
In the past I have cut/broke the branches and twigs up small, less than a foot and filled trash cans. You will be surprised how much you can fit. You can also cut them into 3’-4’ lengths and tie them with twine. None of these ways is quick but a little at a time adds up.
I'd burn them, for the cost of a match they'd be gone. But I understand not everyone can do this. so put an ad on F.B market place and offer it up as a side job to haul away brush . trust me there are people out there willing to work for cash.
thanks everyone so far.... i do not have a hitch. Still looking to see if either I can get a rental place to deliver or pick up, or find someone on marketplace to do a small job. I'll try to post some pics, it will be the largest tree I ever tackled ... long straight oak not sure if white/red... or if that really matters from a firewood perspective.
Rental places may deliver. Too bad I wasn't a little closer as id haul it away or give you a hand. Any pics Dave?
