Earthstove series 101. Not a lot of literature on these old things. But my thermostat is set o high burn in start up and the fire dies when the door is closed. I suspect the thermostat door is seized. Does anyone have any input on troubleshooting and repairing this?

Lennox bought Earth Stove. It’s a long shot but they might have parts. If not you’re kinda SOL.

I remember the spring being the weak point but don’t remember how we got around it. If you have pictures it’ll help, even if it’s just ideas to by-pass it and a make it manually operated.

I figured it out. The box on the back has a door. That door was rusted shut. So I got a wire brush after the hinges and slowly worked them free. Now it all works!
