Absolutely perfect day here in south central Pennsylvania! Got the chance to fire up a saw for a bit. Dad’s friend has some trees he’d like taken down so I obliged. This black oak was the first. Saw that metal tattoo after beating out the notch. Just held my breath bucking and never hit any metal that I felt. Land owner disliked the location of this small shagbark so I removed it next.
The next one was bigger. Couple inches bigger than the reach on my 20” bar. Had no idea what I was getting into. Used the Isocore to reduce lifting weight. Need to get back to get the rest. Ran out of room in the truck.
Way to getter done Jason. I enjoy your felling videos. Fond memories of my dad cutting black oaks when I was a kid.
Brought the rest home today. Also cut two stumps for the landowner. 28” bar isn’t going to finish this one off, so another day. That wood required another pallet.
Got over and split some wood for my parents. Dad ran the hydros while I kept the splitter fed. Couple days ago dad had an incident w/ the bandsaw and got 7 stitches so I quit after about 3-4 trailer loads. Going 5 splits wide. More to come..
I had planned on more splitting but misted rain till early afternoon by then I was out of the mood so I took the wife out for a bite.
