First fire last night here in TN. Dipped into the low 40s. Tulip poplar (official state tree, fun fact) and oak. PXL_20241019_055943813.jpg

I hear that. Colorado is a beautiful state. But sometimes the winters do feel a bit long.

Well, Well. It's that time of year again, 42 here now and not using any heat. The previous two nights were 29 & 30 and we ran the pellet stove for several hours each night. We are still processing the bountiful garden harvest, we were blessed with abundance.

Situation update: 21o5 hrs., Mrs. Mountain man is chilled and therfor the pellet stove is firing up. We will be bring our wood box to the porch and fill it with wood after Halloween. We still are porch sitting at the end of the day and relaxing with a delicious cocktail. We aren't giving that up yet. There isn't room for the wood box and our rockers.

You need a bigger porch! Don't give up the tickets and cocktails.

High of 54°F the low 31°F with a light dusting of snow this morning. We need the precipitation in any form for the forest, we're a little dry here this year.

I hate auto correct and predictive text. It's wrong more than it's right.

Don't give up your rockers and cocktails.

It got down to 32* overnight, it's now 38* with an inside temp of 60*. Firing up the pellet stove for shower time.

I could hardly believe how warm it was here when we got home. Now they say it may hit 82 today. Weird.

No fire for me today as its currently 10c/50f. We are at the bottom or southern range of a massive rain storm that hit the west coast/Vancouver BC area with some areas receiving 290 mm of rain in 2 days. We had a mild, cloudy, blustery weekend but very little rain thankfully. Heavy rain and maybe some wet snow are on deck for today.

Woke up to a dusting of fresh snow this morning. 33 degrees when I got up.

It’s currently 45 degrees outside and 72 inside.

Still had some nice coals glowing in the Oslo when I got up today.

Tomorrows high? We'll be lucky to get out of the upper 30's! Quite the temperature swing!

We are still hitting the 90's. This is crazy. Will go from 90 straight to winter with no fall weather.
