I got the chimney cleaned out good before firing it up. But, I have some maintenance to do over the next week or two.

Gasifier remind us how many cord you use and what you heat??

14 years is a great testimonial for a heater in north east!!

When we had real winters I would go though 25-27 face cord, or a little more, depending when I started and stopped burning of course. That was when it would get down below -20 often.

But, for several winters now I always have firewood leftover. From 3-6 face cord. And we rarely see it get below zero.

I heat about 4200 sq.ft. of living space, 800 sq.ft. of insulated garage to 45 F, and our domestic hot water during the heating season.

Before I bought the boiler I was heating as much of the house as I could with a Pacific Energy Super 27. A nice stove. But with the winters so cold back then I researched and learned about Wood Gasification boilers. Having a boiler system in place already, I decided I might as well heat everything for as long as I can and save a bunch of money over that timeframe. I do miss the glass door of the stove though. :( But love keeping the :emptywallet:in my bank account instead of the oil company’s!

I have been burning in excess of 40 years with gasification with storage; the savings definitely in our bank account not the oil companies!
Sometimes it has been suggested that I burn Apples!!!
