Been a while since we've played. Spotted this huge one where I met my customer this morning. The tree nerd in me had to take pics of course. 42"DBH. Ill post a leaf pic tomorrow night. Whats your guess FHC?
I've got a couple almost that size in the back yard. They sprouted in a window box on our apartment balcony about 35 years ago, and when I moved to our present home I threw the dirt in a hole in the backyard. Well they just kept growing, so I moved them for some quick shade on the west side of the house. And they have done the job quite nicely! Interestingly, one has bark like the pictured tree, while the other is the classic "naked" white tree from about 8 feet on up. I guess two separate tree seeds just happened to land in that little box in the same year.
Sycamore is correct. I seen some good sized ones and marvel at their size. I think its the coolest bark of the trees Oops, sorry. Meant to post last night but got in late. It is a sycamore. One of the coolest tree barks on younger trees. Lighting wasn't the best to get a decent pic.
I've got at least a cord or 2 on deck for this year. It's been split and covered for 4 years. I have no problem with sycamore.
I can’t say I’ve ever seen a sycamore tree. The leaves look maple-y. I don’t care if it smells. I’d burn it!!
