The Tesla S Plaids need to get into the garage for charging, so firewood can’t be blocking the driveway.

I don’t offer discounts either. My price is my price and I won’t budge on it even if they want 5 cords.

IMG_1100.jpeg So my northern neighbor is going through a divorce and offered me a great deal on this toy that I really didn’t need or want. My wife said it looks like fun and useful, so it is part of my rolling stock as of today. August and September firewood sales paid for it. I now can reach a lot of trees on my 300+ acres for firewood harvesting. It is about 1/2 a mile walk to check the mail and gather the wife’s packages. So this toy will be harvesting firewood and Amazon packages.

This neighborhood of mine had a good dozen of downed trees that I harvest about eight cords from and he let me use the dump truck to remove it all. All that firewood I sold for about $7k. I don’t care to keep score with friends, but I have a few hundred hours of helping him out. Both of us appreciate having someone to be there immediately when help is needed.

Glad you spent some Benjamins and got some updated equipment. It will help reduce the wear and tear on your body. We're about the same age...

The next item on my wish list is a vertical splitter such as an Eastonmade. Hunched over my 35 year old splitter for 3-5 hours a day isn’t doing my back any favors.

It sounds like you are doing well. The new machines acquired will no doubt be appreciated. It is like my tractor; I don't know how I ever got along without it. It sure is a back saver when it comes to lifting and moving wood. Also, I can relate to the splitter problem. In 1984 I injured my back badly. A log splitter that I can stand up and then me sitting solves a big problem. When unloading logs I sort of stack them in rows then later I move splitter beside the rows and can split a lot before needing to move splitter a few feet.

    Good luck.

Maxed out on deliveries into next week. $860-900 per day depending on tips. Some dude named Kerry Collins wanted a cord of white oak delivered today. Google maps showed it was a big ash house and property in horse country located in Franklin, Tn. So dropped my plans for the day and got to loading. Very cool dude and helped me stack. He might have played QB for a few years in the NFL. I typically take a picture of my deliveries, but he made a mess of it.

Another hard day of deliveries. Three face cords wheelbarrowed and stacked and three face cords loaded for tomorrow. Three scheduled for Sunday and Monday. October is my busiest month by far.

Delivered my 27th face cord today for the month. Also fired up my Lopi stove with some shag bark hickory. Understand there are shoulder heating firewoods, but when you have hundreds of face cords in the yard, why not burn the good stuff.

My one cord white oak customer today was 90 year old Roy. We only talked for about 10 minutes because it was cold and windy and he was visibly freezing. I was in shorts and a t-shirt. We both operated in four man teams doing the nations work, but he never had the luxury of having a call away ride home. Hope to deliver to him again and hear some more great stories of survival.

#33 delivered yesterday for the month and took today off to help with my parents and do some chores around the house. Did manage to split and stack a face cord this afternoon.

Guessing about 280 face cords. 70/25/5 white oak, hickory & cherry. Average four out and one in this time of year.
