Drove by this en route to my delivery this morning. Had to stop on the way back to check it out. All dead spruce. I lifted a couple rounds and they were on the light side. Not for me. Sorry PNW guys!

 

That would be a hard pass for me too. I STILL have spruce from 2020 that hasn't been burned yet. Maybe this February-March during maple season.

 

Just not dry enough or you cant access the stack to burn it?

 

Can only burn so much pine/spruce in one season. I started with 2 holzhausens of the stuff and am down to half of one left, thankfully.

 

No more chip drop pine for you huh?

Although I cant get over how fast EWP dries. I grabbed a couple rounds from the dump last month. Turned them into kindling and left them boxed next to the furnace. Seems pretty light and dry.

 

I'd take it. Part of me wants to work through a pile of pine and make enough kindling for a decade.

 

I may do another chipdrop next year (specifying NO pine!) Non-knotty pine does make nice kindling

Yep, I’ve had stuff like that the 28 ton couldn’t cut thru.

 

I burn a lot of pine here in indiana.
I'm a scavenger I only turn down rotten wood.
Would be a hard score for me to pass up

 

Heck if I was just drivin by and had the time I would take it. Iffn I didnt use it in the house stove it would make good beer drinking farpit fodder. I never look a gift horse in the mouth.
