pebbles is an awesome supervisor. I got the battery replaced in my phone and have a second action camera I’m looking to use so I can start making YouTube videos as I do projects around here. may as well try and become a YouTube star. some of the projects I may even start linking to Home Depot affiliate links for the stuff I use.
This has transformed …. into this…. 7 cord of red oak resplit from boiler wood size down. Started that project around 7/20. this is what I started with this morning that needed to finish. Took basically 5 buckets. what I’m working with. I’m okay with a large pile on concrete. And I was well supervised today.
Plan is to just let the wood sit on concrete. I’m lazy. my project for Labor Day. laid out the boards. cut the lumber. And assembled a pallet deck for the camper door. At least I can knock some of the dirt off outside. Where pebbles is standing I want to build a counter for a rudimentary counter to let me cook outside. Keep the dirt and grease down inside
Kind of a bittersweet day today… woke up to a phone call that my hopper bottom I bought back on July 5th, sold today. went and traded one check, for one title. The consignment guy is holding the title until the check clears for 2 weeks. few weeks back I added two solar panels to bring it to 400W my solar array. for the most part, it’s been holding the batteries good so I can enough leave for 3-4 days with food in the refrigerator. Labor Day, I added the 4’X8’ deck to the camper so I’ve got someplace to kick the dirt off before bringing it inside. the pallet Jack battery lets me go away for about 8-10 days comfortably without worrying about the refrigerator. I need to about triple the solar array to leave it hooked up 100% of the time. 12V 340 ah. Modified it from a 24v/ 170 ah. todays project, I mounted the framework to a pallet and put it out side in a more sun exposed area. Instead of only 3 1/2 hours (10:30-2:30) direct sunlight, it’ll have closer to about 7 (9-4). 500 lbs of batteries hold it down. It’s a 26* angle, but I need to live with it for now. I’ll have to make a 3-4’ riser for it for winter. this spot has sun normally from 9-4 regardless of the time of year. this represents the fuel I’d use weekly. Now I might use it in a month. even got the skid steer setup for my next project. Restacking all of this off the ground and onto runners. cherry mostly ash. There will be a lot of mulberry joining it.
Nice that you get the sun to keep your batteries charged and you can leave for days without worry. Also nice not to have to lug around cans of gas for the genny. Looks like you are making some good progress.
Thanks All about reducing costs to pay off debt. its $80 to fill all those cans. If I can save 3 trips to town, that’s $240 a month just in gas. That’s a lot of ramen I don’t have to eat I think I’ve got $500 total over two years tied into the solar array.
Went to the retina doctor today. no change. But the good news is the edema isn’t going into the center of my retina. So win there. optometrist did the field test on my eye. I’ve lost about 1/3 of the vision in the lower portion of my right eye. I guess I’m not totally blind though…
Put this together. got a couple friends encouraging and guiding me to make utube videos of this process and journey.
Got plates made finally for the Alaskan sawmill. got pipe for guides.. now to put it together and start making lumber.
What’s Farmerj up to? I’ve been focusing on my Part 107 certification for my drone and also hyper focused on finding a new job/ career. as of yesterday, I have been completing the paperwork for going to work starting 10/14. Tentative job offer has been accepted. Just doing the mandatory drug testing and background checks now. more to come…
That’s one of those things I’m looking into. just using it for YouTube videos will require the 107 too. Maybe not immediately, but if they ever become monetized
Well it’s official…. today I passed my part 107 drone pilot exam… long study hours went into it. took it once and passed it the first time. the “ground school” course I did was the one in LinkedIn career training. it was bad enough that I was driving with wonky vision… now the skies aren’t even safe.
